Today, while trying to enter a few birds into the Lifebirds Journal app, I thought I had finally gotten the hang of searching. It seemed that if I entered no more than three characters, that the search would work. This image shows the difference between entering three and four characters on a search for Bluebirds.

But later, while attempting to log the Red-bellied Woodpecker who had just snatched a whole peanut in the shell from the feeder, I found that entering more than a single character would cause the search to fail.

Obviously, the list is large when searching for a single character, so I believe it is time to scribble off an email to the folks at Eucled Software. I'll report back with their reply. But in the meantime, if you know what is causing this behavior I would love to know.
